Sharadiya Navratri (Navratri 2019) is starting this time from 29 September 2019. In Navaratri, people fast for nine days and duly worship the nine forms of Maa Durga. During Navratri, prayers are performed to Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri of Mother Durga. Navaratri begins with the establishment of the urn and on the day of Navami, people observe fast after feeding girls and offering prasad. Let us know the important dates of Navratri so that there is no difficulty in worshiping different forms of Goddess according to the day.

  • 29 September 2019: First day of Navratri - Ghat / Kalash establishment - Maa Shailputri
  • 30 September 2019 - Navratri 2 days Dwitiya - Maa Brahmacharini
  • 1 October 2019 - Third day of Navratri, Tritiya Tithi - Maa Chandraghanta
  • 2 October 2019 - Fourth day of Navratri Chaturthi - Mother Kushmanda
  • 3 October 2019 - 5th day of Navratri Panchami - Maa Skandamata
  • 4 October 2019 - Sixth day of Navratri Shashthi - Maa Katyayani
  • 5 October 2019 - seventh day of Navratri Saptami - Maa Kalratri.
  • October 6, 2019 - Ashtami, the eighth day of Navratri - Mother Mahagauri, Ashtami
  • 7 October 2019 - The ninth day of Navratri - Navami - Navami, Yagya, Kanya Pujan, Paran
  • 8 October 2019 - Durga idol immersion, Dussehra

According to the Panchang, Navaratri falls four times a year, but Chaitra Navaratri falling on the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month and Sharadiya Navaratri falling on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month is religiously significant. The other two Navaratri takes place in the month of Ashadh and Magha which is called Gupta Navaratri. During this time, the tantrik does special meditation in the midnight to get the blessings of the mother.
