 For the first time after removing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi government is sending 36 of its ministers to the Valley this week to take stock of the situation and increase contact with the people. A week-long tour of the ministers will begin from 18 January. In the Kashmir Valley, only five ministers will be addressing Kishan Reddy, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Shripad Naik, Niranjan Jyoti and Ramesh Pokhriyal, while the remaining ministers will visit different districts of Jammu. Since the abolition of special status on August 5 last year, the government has been trying to normalize the situation in Kashmir. Internet and broadband service was partially restored from 15 January itself.

On January 14, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam said in a letter to Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kishan Reddy, “Amit Shah ji wishes that all members of the Union Council of Ministers will pay the visit. The purpose of this visit is to inform the people of the state about the programs initiated by the Central Government after the removal of Article 370. ”Reddy will visit Ganderbal on 22 January and visit Manigam the next day. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will visit Baramulla on 24 January. Pokhriyal, Naik and Niranjan Jyoti will interact with people in Srinagar.

All ministers will interact with people at 59 places of Kashmir


Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani will visit Panthal area of ​​Katra and Reasi districts on January 19. General VK Singh will go to Tikri in Udhampur on 20 January. Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju will visit Suchetgarh in Jammu. All the ministers have been informed through the mail about development related activities and have been asked to inform the Chief Secretary of the state about their program. According to sources, the ministers are scheduled to visit 59 places, including 51 places in Jammu and the remaining 8 in Kashmir. Sources said that it is part of the government's outreach program to interact directly with the people.
